The Weis Vineyards tasting room-- with a view as stunning as their Riesling.
During Chef Remi's visit from Washington State we stopped at a nearby winery to pick up some bottles for an at-home tasting. (Notwithstanding the gorgeous view of Keuka Lake from the Weis Vineyards tasting room, I always prefer to taste on my own terms.) We were blown away by the consistently superb quality and left with the impression that they were somehow making it look way too easy.
Next week we'll be tasting more Weis wines and hopefully speaking with the owners in preparation for a detailed, full-length essay about them. But we wanted to break this news right away because the wines from Weiss Vineyards are so perfect for serious summertime sipping and pairing with the lighter fare of the season.
Based on what we've tasted from Weis so far, you can't go wrong.
