We knew inflation is an issue, but WTF?
I just got a Facebook pop-up ad for some fancy water... "a hydration experience that will change your life," it claimed. This water reportedly comes from an artesian aquifer deep under the Austrian Alps and contains no microplastics or other increasingly common pollutants. Can there possibly be a market for water this expensive? I'm guessing yes; there is much to be neurotic about in this world, after all, and if one is wealthy enough to afford drinking water at this price, it would likely provide a measure of peace of mind...
...or, as General Jack Ripper put it-- "Purity of Essence."
United States Air Force Brigadier General John D. "Jack" Ripper, from Stanley Kubrick's 1964 masterpiece DR. STRANGELOVE. His obsession with pure water led to the destruction of planet Earth.
I think I'll just stick with my Poland Spring while I'm out on the road.
